Mindful eating

Last time I talked about mindfulness meditation. People who are under great pressure are prone to physical overwork. If you don’t pay attention or ignore it, it may affect your health. Therefore, you should do regular body scans to receive the messages from your body and help reduce stress.

In addition, I also recommend "Mindful Eating", which means focusing your awareness on what you eat!

Stay focused while eating and be aware of your current feelings and reactions instead of eating mindlessly. For example, when eating cauliflower, we should feel the taste, softness and hardness of each bite, the feeling on the tip of the tongue, and the feeling of passing through the esophagus after chewing, so as to activate our five senses to eat.

By increasing awareness, it helps to distinguish physiological hunger from psychological hunger, stop eating when you feel full, avoid overeating or emotional eating, and naturally reduce the intake of extra calories. In addition, slowing down your eating speed and focusing on chewing food can improve digestive function and reduce gastrointestinal burden.

Some people feel nervous and stressed about eating whenever they think about getting healthy or losing weight. If they do not fully understand food, some people become very anxious about eating only certain foods and dare not eat indiscriminately. Otherwise, they will let themselves go and eat more. In order to get rid of the unhealthy "stress eating" habit, you can slowly practice mindful eating: taste the food carefully, and by being aware of your satiety, you will unknowingly slow down your eating speed and reduce excessive calorie intake. Through mindful eating, we can not only establish a healthy relationship with food, but also be aware of and explore our own preferences. This process can be said to be a great form of self-growth!
