Why does the quality of your sleep directly affect your "stress index"? !

During sleep, the regulation of certain neural substances (such as serotonin and adrenaline) is crucial for emotional digestion and stress elimination. Serotonin is involved in various emotional experiences every day, helping us face any positive and negative energy we receive in a day; adrenaline allows us to evaluate whether we should "play straight to the ball" or "run quickly" when facing danger! Both of these substances are turned off during Rapid Eye Movements (REM) sleep.

During the day, our brains are collecting and sorting out new emotional memories, and during REM sleep at night, the brain reactivates these new memories as if replaying a summary of those emotions. Normally, the adrenaline and serotonin systems are shut down at this time, and these emotional memories will be transferred to the "familiar" storage of the brain, and the nervous physiological reactions of "straight ball duel" or "hurry up" will not be ruminated all the time.

To put it simply, when we are awake or insomnia, REM sleep will not occur, and our brains will be in the emotional tension accumulated during the day. Therefore, the more insomnia we have, the more anxious we will be, leading to a vicious cycle of stress, emotional breakdown, and finally affecting the quality of sleep!
